Our quotes are for rebuilding your old Power Tool pack. (It must be sent to us.) This
price list does not cover scientific instrument batteries, only the common
battery operated hand tools.

These are Japan manufactured replacement packs.
If you are considering the purchase of new battery packs from the original
manufacturer… Remember this: If your tool is 5 years old… it is likely that
the existing replacement packs are also 5 years old. They stopped making the
battery packs… when they released the new model and the gadgets to go with it.
If you do not care about the gadgets that draw most customers into the “buy a
new one” trap – then you are our intended customer. Our purpose is to
provide improved performance… for use by those who require only the very best.
It is not our intention to compete with low cost replacement batteries. Remember
that the poor quality battery problem will continue… it is sold to you along
with the new gadgets and doo-dads. If you do not require more than casual use of
your cordless tools, then you should probably search for the lowest price.
When rebuilding your old battery – we only use only factory fresh
cells, that exceed the original manufacturers specifications. There have been
considerable increases in the capacity of all rechargeable cells and they
continue to improve every day. Your power tool has never had it so good!
So… who thinks this is a great idea? Here are some folks that use our
rebuilding service. Ford Motor Division, GE, ATT, Lufkin, PA State police. It
works and you are going to love the results!
Battery packs for cordless tools may be viewed as three categories. They
are typically graded by voltage and capacity. The voltage indicates how many 1.2
Volt cells are used. (10 cells = 12 Volts). The mAh or Ah refers to how much
energy can be stored. The higher the number, the better the ability to provide
continued use without recharging. The Physical size of the cells and if they are
NiCD or NIMH chemistry determine what can be used as a replacement. Battery
capacity measurements are based upon finished product testing with top quality
cells. Often times cells may be marked with capacity ratings that may be
misleading – some perform better – others less – we test all of them to
make sure!
Standard capacity Packs: They are usually sold in pairs, in kits with do-everything attachments. They were made at minimum cost, with small size cells that are low capacity and provided little operating time. These batteries often spend more time in the charger than they do in the tools. We replace these cells with the highest available capacity. The result is usually a 25% increase in run time. We no longer convert the NiCD packs to NIMH. Our rebuilds will be NiCD to NiCD and NIMH to NIMH. Using high capacity cells will give you a much extended run time and keeping the chemistry the same insures that there will be no chance of charger issues.
Extra, XR or Maxi etc. battery packs: These are large capacity NiCD packs. We automatically replace these with 2.1 Ah cells or larger depending on what is currently available for cells for a 20% run time increase. If your pack is NIMH this battery can be improved to 3.3 Ah or larger for extended run time.
NIMH – Maximum Capacity Packs: NIMH batteries
are usually available in two battery sizes. Small packs were 1.5 Ah and large
cases were 2.2 Ah. We rebuild the small case with 2.1 Ah for a 40% increase. The
larger packs are improved to 3.3 Ah. Either size usually adds 50% more run time
than the original packs.
Which battery rebuild choice do I need? Let us worry about it:
We guarantee that you will like the renewed performance. There are many
variations within the styles and brand names. Our prices are based upon a
commitment to use the largest capacity cells that will work in your case. The
battery will be returned to you with the highest capacity cells that can be used
to rebuild it. We automatically upgrade all the battery packs to higher capacity
cells of the same size and chemistry.
CAUTION: Do not repeatedly recharge the battery without using it. This will over fill the battery and result in excessive heating. If it feels very warm, it is over charged and charging must be stopped. Failure to do so will damage the cells and can cause the cells to burst if allowed to get extremely hot. Approach the charge process with caution. Observe the charger and battery. Bad chargers that constantly pump power into the battery regardless of it's charge are responsible for premature failure of the cells in your battery pack. If the pack is a little warm and shows that the charge is complete, you are OK. If the pack gets hot and stays hot, your charger is probably toast and should be replaced.
We have the technology to open and reseal even the toughest battery
cases. Many contractors, manufacturers, service companies and maintenance
departments are using our rebuilds. Some companies include Ford Motor Div.,
AT&T, PA State Police and many individuals are using our rebuilds and they
say they will “Never Go Back”. Stop tossing your valuable tools away.

Which Rebuild Choice do I need? Allow us to make the choice. The battery
will be restored with the highest capacity cells that can be used for it. Our
prices are based upon Voltage and the choice between NiCD or NIMH cells. The mAh
values listed are minimums. All cells used are larger then the OEM capacity
cells. 2600 mAh cells are often used and higher capacity cells if possible.

Tracking will tell
you when the package was picked up - after that it is useless.
Please be informed that insurance only covers damage, that you can report when
the package is delivered. Insurance does not cover a lost package.
In 20 years of business, we have never recovered a package lost by the postal
system. After a few days, they may not find any of the 3 copies of your claim
report.
Once the package is handed to the US Postal service - - it is no longer the
responsibility of Sandown Wireless. If it is late, lost, damaged, or
otherwise mishandled, the problem must be resolved by you, as the customer
at the address you provided.
It will cost at least $50 to chase a
lost package (or a claimed to be lost package).
Many items cannot be replaced - that is why they are rebuilt.

All other addresses are by quotation only.
NiCd or NiMh batteries are not considered hazardous by either the USPS or UPS,
however, care should be taken to provide adequately packaging in order to
protect the packs from damage or shorting when being transported.
Most return shipments are by Priority Mail or UPS 2-3 day service. -- so your return
address must be valid for delivery of packages by both the U.S.P.S. and UPS.
If you are sending batteries for service -- present turn around time for
rebuilding is 10 days after we receive your batteries with payment.

Credit terms can be arranged for Company Purchase Orders, subject to
approval of financial information, and references from 3 suppliers. This
usually takes longer than the time to provide rebuild service, and is not
offered for any order of less than $ 500.00.

Warranty on Rebuilt Batteries 1/2010
General
We use several US companies to do our rebuilding and offer a (1) year pro rated warranty on the battery cells used in the rebuilding of any of our packs.

We date code every battery with the ship date from our shop. |

The scribed date is the basis for warranty. |

If the month it ships is 01/10 and it fails in the month of 01/10 then we will pay 100% of the repair. |

If it fails 06/10 then we will pay 50% of the repair |
|
If it fails 12/10 then it's out of warranty. |
Tools
Tool battery labor is warranted for 30 days by our rebuilding shop. We will warranty the battery pro rated for (1) One Year. If you drop the case and break it so it needs re-gluing the cost is $20.00 plus shipping to get it repaired after 30 days.
